The captain and goalkeeper of Indonesia’s Persela Lamongan team died after violently hitting one of his teammates in an Indonesian league 1 match. The exact circumstances of his death have not yet been elucidated.
Choirul Huda, who won the Indonesian championship on Oct. 15, has been shocked by the brutal death of Indonesian Indonesian team captain Persela Lamongan. The 38-year-old goalkeeper was an emblematic Persela figure in the colors of which he had played more than 500 games.
The club, having replaced the picture of his Twitter account with a black band in mourning, paid tribute to his captain, described as “legend” of the club, which he joined in 1999.

As he rushed to intercept a ball that had landed in his penalty area, Choirul Huda struck his Brazilian teammate Ramon Rodriguez, shot a few meters away by the violence of the shock. It is however the goalkeeper who will be the most severely affected after this relatively frequent collision in the professional football matches. The 38-year-old captain tried to get up in vain before losing consciousness a few moments later. Rescued and taken to the hospital as a matter of urgency, he died without the rescue being able to resuscitate him.
In a report published on the website of the Persela Lamongan, a doctor who helped the footballer, mentioned the possibility of trauma to the thorax, skull and cervicals received at the time of the shock.
