8 Festivals From Around The World To Look Out For In October

It’s the last day of September and while the curtains begin to fall on festivals like Berlin‘s Oktoberfest, several others around the world are gearing up to kick off.

From Europe to North America,there are several fun festivals which every travel and culture enthusiast should have on their radar.

Check out 10 fun festivals coming up this October.

  1. Amsterdam Dance Event, Amsterdam, Netherlands – This is a 5-day industry and entertainment extravaganza scattered across 115 reputable venues throughout Amsterdam and it starts on October 14th.

  2. Austin City Limits Festival, Texas, United States – Focusing mostly on rock, pop and jazz, this is a festival for music fans and also manages to attract other genres of music as well. It starts from the 2nd of October.

  3. New York City Wine & Food Festival, New York United States – No self-respecting food lover should miss this event which lasts from 15th -18th October.

  4. The Village Halloween Parade – Dedicated to the celebration of Halloween, this festival which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year will attracts thousands of people come October 31st.

    Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival, Ireland – Are you single and hoping to get hitched? Then head on to Ireland and Lisdoonvarna for some Irish luck at the matchmaking festival and you just might get lucky. This festival has spanned from August 24th and will wrap on  the 4th of October.

  6. Vegetarian Festival, Phuket, Thailand – If you’re curious about Thai religion and rituals, then take a time to attend this festival. Be prepared to see a few things that will mystify you though. The festival spans from October 15th 23rd.

  7. Navratri, India – Spanning from October 13th to 21st, this festival is a nine-night, ten-day festival that celebrates the Hindu goddess Durga. Fret not about the religious element as the urban areas are really more about the partying and dancing.

  8. La Calaca,  San Miguel de Allende, Mexico –  If you’re a fan of arts and music events and also happen to like Halloween, then head on to San Migeul de Allende. This festival spans from 31st October to 4th November.
