Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa
Amber Rose’s romance with Wiz Khalifa blossomed on Twitter. “The guy who interviewed [Wiz] asked, ‘If there was one girl in the world who would you be with?’” Rose said. “He said ‘Amber Rose,’ and then I hit him on Twitter and I said, ‘That’s really cute,’ and we fell in love!” The pair became engaged and wed, but in 2014, Rose filed for divorce, and suddenly, rumors of her cheating on him flew. According to her, she wasn’t the one who was unfaithful. “I would never ever, ever cheat on my husband in a million years I think u guys know this. … Unfortunately, my now ex-husband can’t say the same,” she tweeted.
Big Sean and Naya Rivera
Actress Naya Rivera met and quickly got engaged to rapper Big Sean after they exchanged tweets and direct messages. “I had followed him and he sent me a little message like, ‘I’m a fan,’” she told Access Hollywood. “I tweeted that I followed him, I was trying to get his attention.” But their happiness didn’t last. Their engagement collapsed in 2014 following a Star magazine report that Sean cheated on her, which his reps debunked. Rivera quickly rebounded with an old friend and wed — on the date she was supposed to marry Sean.
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Evelyn Lozada
Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson met “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada after she slid in his Twitter direct messages, she told PageSix. They began dating around the time of Super Bowl XLVI, but their relationship would later cause Lozada to call 2012 the “worst,” according to Life & Style. Johnson head-butted Lozada, which resulted in a domestic battery charge, and he served seven days of a 30-day jail sentence.
Nick Young and Iggy Azalea
When Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Nick Young saw Australian rapper Iggy Azalea’s video for “Work,” he went on Twitter and made her his Woman Crush Wednesday. “Oh man, she looks very hot,” he recalled thinking of her to Billboard. They got engaged in 2015 and the next year, a video leaked of Young admitting to a teammate that he cheated on his fiancée. “Unfortunately, although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him, it’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to,” Azalea tweeted upon finally ending their relationship.
Jennette McCurdy and Andre Drummond
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond made former “iCarly” star Jennette McCurdy his “Woman Crush Wednesday” on Twitter and was so persistent she finally agreed to go out with him. Their romance was short-lived and they broke up because, as McCurdy told Nerdist in 2014, their first kiss “just didn’t go great. No sparks. The mouths … the shapes weren’t right.” To add insult to injury, sexy photos of the actress leaked and folks immediately looked to Drummond, but he denied any link to the images.
Juelz Santana and Kimbella
Rapper Juelz Santana met his “Love and Hip-Hop: New York” reality star girlfriend Kimbella on Twitter and they share two children together. Although they’ve been together off and on since 2009, their relationship has been marked by cheating controversies, including a rumor that Santana once cheated on Kimbella with fellow MC Remy Ma. “Juelz and I, of course, faced a lot of infidelities, him being very disrespectful at the time,” Kimbella said in a VH1 promo video. “I really had to bring him down to understand what type of woman he was dealing with.”
K. Michelle and Lance Stephenson
Like her fellow “Love and Hip-Hop” star Kimbella, K. Michelle, formerly of the series’ Atlanta spin-off, met her beau, Indiana Pacers small forward Lance Stephenson, on Twitter — except, things didn’t last between this pair. “I know I’m a lot,” she told “The Skorpion Show” in 2013. “And to ask a 23-year-old to understand this job, too … and being 23, trying to date somebody you never dated … an artist or things like that. Then you’re in the NBA and you want to sling d— and be 23 and … I’m not having it.”
