35-year-old Chike Ukaegbu to Become Nigeria’s Youngest President

He is only 35 years old but he wants to run for the highest office in Nigeria. The young Chike Ukaegbu has recently made his candidacy for the presidential election in February 2019, becoming the youngest candidate in this election campaign, since the new law to lower the age limit in politics.

Ranked among Africa’s 100 most influential under-40s, Chike Ukaegbu’s ambition is to become Nigeria’s youngest ever head of state, but also of this young African nation.

The young prodigy’s candidacy comes in a political context where more than 60% of the population is aged 18 and 35 years old.


Christian and native of the state of Imo, Mr. Ukaegbu, hopes to overthrow the 75-year-old President Muhammadu Buhari, who has already announced that he wants to run for reelection.
