2017 Forbes List Of 10 Richest Black People!! Isabel Dos Santos Still in the top 5….

There are 10 black people who made the Forbes’ list of Billionaires in 2017. Here are the richest black people in the world.

  1. Aliko Dangote – This Nigerian business magnate still holds the title as the richest black person in the world with an estimated value of $12.2 billion. His empire was built in the cement, flour, and sugar industry. His company, The Dangote Cement, is the biggest cement manufacturer in Africa.


  1. Mohammed Al-Amoudi – This Saudi-Ethiopian tycoon has an estimated worth of $8.4 billion. He is one of the wealthiest Arab businessmen and amassed his fortune from oil factories in various countries. Al-Amoudi has Ethiopian roots and has invested in gold mining, construction, transportation, leather production, and agro-business through his Midroc Ethiopia Technology Investment Group.


  1. Mike Adengua – He has an estimated value of $6.1 billion. Adengua is a Nigerian businessman who owns huge commercial and residential properties in Ghana. He also owns a telecom company and made his riches from the oil industry.


  1. Isabel Dos Santos – She is the daughter of Angola’s outgoing president and is known as Africa’s richest woman. Dos Santos is an investor with shares in various businesses including a mobile phone network, telecom, bank, cable TV, oil, and gas. She is valued at an estimate of $3.1 billion.


  1. Oprah Winfrey – Winfrey has built her TV empire in the US and holds the title of the richest African-American in the world. She has her own cable network called OWN and a school for girls in Africa. Winfrey has an estimated worth of $3 billion.


  1. Robert Smith – His value is estimated at $2.5 billion. Smith owns a private equity firm in Texas.


  1. Patrice Motsepe – He made his billions in mining and became the first black billionaire in South Africa. Through his company, African Rainbow Capital, he was able to invest in various companies. His worth is estimated at $1.81 billion.


  1. Folorunsho Alakija – This mogul is the only Nigerian female billionaire on the list. Her estimated worth is $1.61 billion and made her fortune from the oil industry. She started a fashion label with upscale clients.


  1. Michael Jordan – With an estimate of $1.31 billion, this American basketball superstar is a shareholder of the Charlotte Bobcats and has endorsement contracts with various brands including a partnership with Nike.


  1. Mohammed Ibrahim – He built his riches from his African mobile company which he eventually sold to a Kuwait company. Ibrahim currently invests in a private equity firm and is valued at $1.14 billion.
