It has become quite popular for musicians and rappers to transition into acting and go on to have successful careers. However, the same can’t be said for actors that try to transition into the world of musical entertainment. There has been minimal success if any, and most of this comes from former Disney stars such as Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus. The reality is that most actors that made albums or songs failed miserably at convincing their fan base they have musical talent. The list below highlights albums that were released by actors and never created a buzz, despite their celebrity status. David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff decided to record and release the album Jump In My Car, which debuted on October 20, 2006. The album did garner some success, debuting at number three on the UK Singles Chart. But it’s still safe to say that this was something Hasselhoff should have kept to himself.

Tyra Banks

America’s Next Top Model producer and former model Tyra Banks released her first and only single Shake Ya Body, in 2004. The video featured the final six contestants of cycle 2 of America’s Next Top Model. Tyra Banks admitted that even though she pursued her dream of making a song, it was a failure and not all things work out like you want them.

Naomi Campbell

International model Naomi Campbell released an album titled Babywoman on October 3, 1994. The album had some success in Japan and didn’t make the charts in the US or UK, but she did make an interesting album cover.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan released the album Speak on December 7, 2004. Lindsay’s album did receive some success, reaching the fourth spot on the Billboard charts. However, most critics claim this is due to her success as a child actor more than her singing ability. Because of all the negative publicity Lindsay received from paparazzi, a possible tour overseas was scrapped.

Deion Sanders

Deion Sanders released the album Prime Time on December 27, 1994, which was produced by Dallas Austin. Despite the negativity of critics, the album made it to #70 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. However, there were no successful singles released from the album. It’s possible the album cover didn’t do much to help sell the album.

Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy released the single Party All The Time in 1985. The single was produced by the late great legendary singer Rick James. The song made it to the second position on the Billboard charts in its first week, before tanking completely. He’s just too sexy for a shirt in this album cover photo.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton released the song Turn It Up in 2006. While the song didn’t have much success, it did manage to reach the top position on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts.

Alyssa Milano

Actress Alyssa Milano released her album, Look In My Heart, on March 21, 1989. Alyssa’s album was so bad it didn’t make the charts at all in the US, but the album peaked at #68 on the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart for six weeks.

The album Shaq Diesel was released on October 26, 1993. Although the album had no successful singles, it did reach platinum status. It’s safe to say most people who bought the album are basketball fans, because his rap skills are seriously lacking.

Joey Lawrence

Joey Lawrence’s song Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix was released in 1993. The album reached number 19 on Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant recorded the album K.O.B.E., featuring Tyra Banks, which was released on January 25, 2000. The song was performed during the NBA All-Star Weekend. However, the song was not received well by the general public, leading Sony to abandon future music projects.

Steven Seagal

Steven Seagal released the album Songs From The Crystal Cave on May 18, 2004. The album was a mix of country, rock and reggae music. Critics and fans considered this project as laughably bad.

Tisha Campbell

Tisha Campbell released the self-titled album Tisha on January 4, 1993. The album wasn’t well received, failing to make the Billboard 200 or Hot R&B Albums charts.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt released her album Lets Go Bang on October 10, 1995. The album was thought to become a success, but because of the departure of Doug Morris, all promotion for the album was canceled.

Tatyana Ali

Tatyana Ali released the album Kiss The Sky on August 25, 1998. This album did not make it to the top 100 of the Billboard 200, but did place at #106 and #47 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian released a song titled Jam (Turn It Up) in 2011. The song was recorded for charity, but after the release Kim announced that she would pursue a full album. However, because of how poorly the album was received, she later claimed that she regretted recording the song and would not put out an album.

Raven Symone

Raven Symone released the album, This Is My Time on September 7, 2004. The album actually sold 57,000 copies the first week and made it to position #51 on the Billboard 200 charts. However, it never quite became the success Raven hoped it would achieve.

Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis released the album The Return of Bruno on January 20, 1987. The album’s top position on theBillboard 200 charts was at #14. But did really well in the UK, peaking at the second position on the charts. However, follow up singles did not do well and only reached the 57th position on the singles chart.

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson released the album Anywhere I Lay My Head on May 16, 2008. The album was not received well and sold only 5,700 copies the first week, reaching #126 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Brian Austin Green

Brian Austin Green released the album One Stop Carnival on June 25, 1996. This album received terrible publicity and was called a pallid, uninspired, and insufferably arrogant piece of work. It ultimately did not place on the charts.
