Smartphones have become a normal part of life for millions of people. When they wake up, some people immediately check their phones for texts, calls, Facebook notifications, Twitter updates, Instagram followers, and the latest YouTube video of their favorite internet celebrity. There is nothing wrong with using your smartphone to connect with people and have fun, but there’s something you have to know about storing your smartphone.
A research suggests that putting your smartphone very near to your body could do you more harm than initially thought. Whether you place your phone in your pockets or in your bra, it’s time to assess whether our devices should ever be placed near our skin.
Apparently, it was not that uncommon for ladies to place their small Nokia phones inside their bra. Because some of women’s clothing don’t have pockets, it was the only other way for them to keep their phones with them. Even now, it is still being practiced with the larger smartphones of our digital age.
According to Doctor Devra Davis, girls probably should not put their phones inside their bras. As the author of a study about cellphone radiation, Dr. Davis stated that there was one awful case of a woman who developed a tumor in her breast.
It was already a cause for alarm that the woman had a tumor in her breast, but something was more surprising: the tumor reportedly had the shape of a mobile phone. However, the discovery does not necessarily mean that a phone placed in a bra caused the tumor. There is a difference between correlation and causation, people.
Even if there is no sufficient evidence to indicate that putting the mobile phone in her bra caused the tumor, Dr. Davis believes that it should serve as a reminder that people have yet to fully reveal the dangers of literally being attached to technology.
Dr. Davis was incredibly worried ever since she found out about the breast tumor incident. When she learned that someone had actually invented a phone strap to be placed on your head, she became more alarmed.
Dr. Davis said that people should be wary of the term “radio frequency energy” since it is just another term for “microwave radiation”. According to Dr. Davis, using “microwave radiation” would make people think twice about placing a phone that has microwave radiation in their pocket, bra, or on their head.
It’s not just women who put their phones in their bras who should be concerned according to Dr. Davis. She revealed that there have been studies before that reportedly noted a decrease in sperm quantity and quality because of cellphone radiation.
