10 Fabulous Beauty Recipes With Cucumber

Although the flesh of a cucumber mostly consists of water, cucumber does have some amazing properties. The flesh contains skin soothing ingredients, such as caffeic and ascorbic acids, and the skin of a cucumber contains a variety of minerals that help strengthen the tissues in the human body. You probably already know how good cucumber is for tired eyes, but here are ten more beauty recipes and uses of the humble cucumber.

1. Cucumber skin toner

This is a great recipe for a very mild, soothing skin toner that is just perfect for those days when you wake up and find that your skin is a bit puffy.


  • ½ chopped cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons witch-hazel
  • 2 tablespoons water

Blend the chopped cucumber, skin still on, with the water and witch-hazel, strain the mixture through a fine sieve and store in a sealed a bottle in the refrigerator. The end result will be a great toner that will tighten the skin and you should be able to keep it for several weeks in the refrigerator.

2. Cucumber and green tea body spray

This one is a cooling body spray that will soothe your skin and help it to repair. It’s especially good for when you’ve spent a little too long in the sun and it combines all the antioxidant power of green tea with the skin care properties of cucumber.


  • ½ chopped cucumber
  • 1 green tea teabag
  • rose essential oil
  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel

Peel, puree and strain the flesh of half a cucumber and mix it with a cup of chilled green tea. Then just add a tablespoon of aloe vera gel and a drop of rose essential oil, mix and store in the refrigerator in a spray bottle.

3. Blueberry, oat and cucumber mask

Here’s a really simple, no fuss, cucumber face mask that works wonders. Just blend the ingredients together and use it as you would any other face mask.


  • 1/2 pureed cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons oats
  • 1 handful blueberries

4. Blemish removing cucumber mask

When you smooth this face mask over your skin and leave it on for fifteen minutes, it will help to reduce any blemishes in your skin. Simply blend all the ingredients together in a blender.


  • 1/2 chopped cucumber
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 drop rosemary essential oil

5. Exfoliating cucumber foot treatment

  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Blend the ingredients to a fine puree in a blender. Then, pour the mixture into a bowl and warm it gently and soak your feet in this foot mask for about ten minutes.

6. Refreshing cucumber skin tonic

For those times when your skin needs a little wake up, here’s a very simple cucumber skin tonic recipe.


  • 1 whole cucumber
  • some fresh mint

Just blend the ingredients, strain and then keep the tonic cool in a refrigerator, and you’ll have a refreshing, reinvigorating, natural skin tonic.

7. Cucumber and egg hair mask

You can quickly repair the damage to your hair that is caused by the sun and over-using heated tools with this wonderful, homemade, cucumber hair mask.


  • 1 whole egg
  • ½ chopped and peeled cucumber
  • ¼ cup linen oil (or coconut oil)

  • 1 peeled lemon
