Surprise, the first black President of the United State is the most threatened President in history. Doesn’t exactly take an history buff to figure out just why this is the case. He receives over 30 potential death threats a day.
It is being reported that since POTUS took office in 2008, there have been over a 400% increase in death threats on the life of the man in office. This sharp increase represents the resentment and frustration many people have towards a black President.
The vast majority of death threats on the President’s life are not reported to the media or the public, but the goal of the U.S. Secret Service is to immediately analyze and respond to any threat against the President, First Lady, or visiting heads of state.
The problem is the sheer volume of threats on the life of the President. They are really stretching the resources of the Secret Service thin, but they must stay alert on the job and follow up on all credible threats.
According to the Secret Service:
President Barack Obama is the target of more than 30 potential death threats a day and is being protected by an increasingly over-stretched Secret Service. He is the most threatened President in history.
Since the President took office in 2008, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400% cent. Some threats to the President have been publicized, including the well known alleged plot by white supremacists in Tennessee to rob a gun store, shoot 88 black people, decapitate another 14 and then assassinate the first black president in American history.
Most however, are kept under wraps because the Secret Service fears that revealing details of them would only increase the number of copycat attempts.
Many people in the United States are not satisfied with the job President Obama is doing with the country, but remember, they were not pleased with President Bush either. To have a 400% increase in the number of threats since this man took office in 2008 only points to one thing, but what do you think?
