The city is hoping to acquire 100 new programming engineers, imaginative executives, item directors, experts, and advanced strategists from around the globe to animate the nation’s developing tech scene.
In order to entice techies to move to the island country, Wellington is hosting a “global talent attraction programme.”
The city will host 100 candidates for a free weeklong trip where techies can participate in job interviews and get to know New Zealand. The trip will include pre-arranged job interviews, meet-ups with others in the tech industry and trips around Wellington.
Those who are interested in moving to New Zealand for a tech job can start by registering their interest online with LookSee Wellington and creating a profile. Then, tech firms from around the city will nominate their favorite candidates.At the end of the admission process, LookSee will choose the 100 most-nominated candidates and set them up with a weeklong trip to Wellington—complete with airfare and accommodations.
Once in New Zealand, candidates will participate in pre-arranged job interviews with some of Wellington’s “leading tech firms.” Candidates will also have time to participate in meet-ups and explorations around the city. LookSee Wellington will also host informational events to help potential immigrants understand the process of moving to New Zealand.
At the end of the week, companies will make job offers to their favorite candidates.
Applicants have until March 20 to submit their resumes. Interviews will take place in New Zealand from May 8 to 11.
